What is Embedded and Link Journalism?

Because of the explosive growth of content and abundance of content creators, the majority of citizen journalism has turned into embedded and link journalism.

Embedded and link journalism is about embedding part of a reporting or piece on the web and linking to it to enhance, complement, or add more context to original reporting.

Links are the dominant distribution mechanism on the web. Links form the navigation method on the web, and they define sources rankings in Search Engines.

Linking is essential to the practice of journalism on the web.
